WELCOME TO 'CANADA'S # 1 CORONATION STREET FAN' DEBORAH'S CORRIE WEBPAGE
About Me
Hi, I am:
I am officially Canada's # 1 Coronation Street fan. I can say that because on July 30th, 2009 I found out I had won the CBC contest looking for Canada's # 1 fan. It is very exciting. My prize was a trip for 2 to England, 6 nights at the Marriott Victoria & Albert, spending money, a tour of the set and bragging rights as the # 1 fan. On March 11th we headed to Manchester and had the most amazing 2 weeks. Thankyou CBC and Casino Rama.
Thanks to my friend Michael, I received the following Congratulation video messages.
Thankyou Craig, Craig, Karen and Michael. 8 )
In 1995 after watching the show for 2 weeks, we ended up at the studios. It was open to the public then. My husbands first pint in the UK was at The Rovers. After walking those famous cobbles, we were hooked and haven't missed a show since. As new watchers to the show, we did not appreciate the tour like we should have. The public tours stopped around 2000 and we didn't think we'd ever return to the Street. Sometimes you do things for people, not expecting anything in return and get rewarded in big ways. In 2007 and 2008 we were shocked when we were given private tours of the set. Thankyou Jayne & Peter!!! This time we appreciated every single minute. To many fans this is a dream, that is why I set up this webpage to share my photos with you.
I have met a number of the cast (65 of them) and those I haven't, I have written to for their autographs.
I love to organize Corrie get togethers-or PINGS as they are known. In July 2009 we celebrated our 5th year anniversary of organizing pings and have had over 20 of them! I have met A LOT of fabulous fans and many have gone on to be very special friends.
Corrie fans are the nicest people in the world!!
In Sept 2005 we had Darran who is an 'Extra' on Corrie attend a ping. It was an honour to have him and Eileen join us. Don't forget to look for our favourite extra each week having a pint in the Rovers or a full English at Roys.
We've had pings for Peter, Donna and Mark when they've been in town from the UK promoting their magazine at the British Isles show. Sadly in 2009 Peter passed away, we will never forget our good friend.
Our latest ping in July 2010 was filmed for a special to air this Dec. 9th called Corrie Crazy.
The pings wouldn't be what they were without the amazing help from Sheila, we work well together. I'm so pleased I met Sheila a few years ago. We've become good friends away from Coronation Street too. (Go GENS Go!!!) Al also helps a lot and friends pitch in.
*Our pings are usually held in Mississauga or Ajax areas. If you would like more details see link on right side of page for ping website or send me a message.
I think Jack P Shephard is brilliant. I was really hoping to meet him in 2007 and 2008, but he never happened to be at Granada when I was. My friend Graham knew how much I wanted to meet him, so did this for me in July 2008.
Thanks Graham and Jack!!!!!
On Dec. 27, 2008 my friends Graham, Emma and Jez went to Liverpool as Rob James-Collier (Liam) was involved with a charity run. Thanks to Graham, Rob wished me a Merry Christmas.
All Corrie fans should check out CORONATION STREET CHATTER message board. There's spoilers, cast news, lots of Corrie chat, games and a section for Canadian fans which contains no spoilers.
Coronation Street Chatter It's a brand new Corrie site I've started with Corrie fan & friend Emma. See you there!

+ The tours are closed to the public. I really wish I could help you get a tour, but unfortunately I can't. Hopefully one day they will open up the tours again so everyone can walk on those famous cobbles.
Thanks for dropping by. Please leave comments or a message and come back soon.
